A new Far Cry title is heading to Xbox Game Pass.
Ubisoft is finally opening up the 2019 hit Far Cry: New Dawn to Xbox Game Pass players on the Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers. That means, you can now take a train to the future in the apocalyptic world of 2035 as Security Captain 17 years after a nuclear catastrophe for as low as $1 for a 14-day trial if you’re a new subscriber.
The game, which is optimized for Xbox Series X/S and supports 4K Ultra HD and HDR10, is also accessible via cloud gaming for the Game Pass Ultimate tier. You can also purchase Far Cry New Dawn separately for $39.99, with deluxe editions and various add-ons available.
Additional content includes expansion packs, cosmetic upgrades, and bundles featuring previous “Far Cry” titles. Online multiplayer on consoles requires an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Core subscription.
A recent development suggests that Microsoft is reportedly testing a “Bring Your Own Game” feature for Xbox Cloud Gaming, which lets you continue playing purchased games even after they leave Game Pass Ultimate. The discovery comes from newly surfaced code snippets referencing a “Leaving Soon” message, hinting at future support for owned titles on the cloud platform.
The Redmond tech giant said that Xbox Cloud Gaming saw strong momentum in the last quarter, with 140 million hours streamed and a 30% rise in PC subscribers. Currently in Beta, Xbox Cloud Gaming lets you stream the games on various devices, including Samsung and LG Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, VR headsets, and mobile devices.
