Everybody’s been anticipating the Windows 11 23H2 release today. As a matter of fact, Microsoft has just launched this very update to Release Preview, the closest channel before the general availability phase.
Billed as Build 22631, Microsoft says that they’re rolling out the new rebranded Chat app, Phone Link, and a Play Together widget, which have been tested in other insider channels in the past months.
“This new update will have the same servicing branch and code base as Windows 11, version 22H2, and will be cumulative with all the newly announced features including Copilot in Windows (in preview),” Microsoft promises.
Redmond officials further say that they will first release the hotly-anticipated AI assistant tool to North and South American markets as well as parts of Asia. No Europe, yet. Ouch.
“It is our intention to add additional markets over time,” the announcement adds.
Microsoft released a security update for Windows 11 today, but it is not the major 23H2 update that many users were expecting. The 23H2 update is still scheduled for release in October or November 2023.
