WhatsApp is testing an auto-delete feature for messages. Much like competing apps Telegram and Snapchat, users will be able to set an expiration time for messages, ranging from an hour to a year.

As per WABetainfo, you can use this in both one on one chats or in group messages (Although admins can choose to enable or disable it in the current beta builds.)

WhatsApp already lets you delete messages sent to others, albeit only manually and for a much shorter time period. With this, you’ll be able to control just how long you’d like a message to be disseminated for. Much like Dark Mode, WhatsApp’s features-in-testing often have a long and winding pipeline before they reach users. Don’t expect to see this one before 2020.
