Just last week, we reported that VLC’s Windows 10 app is coming to the Xbox One. Today, the app launched on the Windows Store for Xbox One owners, and you should now be able to install it on your Xbox right from the Windows Store. As the VLC app is a Universal Windows App, it features all the features which you’ll find on the Windows 10 app on your PC or Mobile devices. Do keep in mind that this isn’t the full-fledged VLC Win32 app, which means it will lack some features and that’s expected. As for the UWP, VLC includes:

  • video player
  • audio player
  • audio management
  • MKV playback
  • FLAC playback
  • Subtitles downloader
  • subtitles
  • audio

VLC is available for free on the Windows Store — and to install it on your Xbox One, just open up the Windows Store, and search for VLC. Alternatively, you can just go to the following link from Microsoft Edge and download it from the Windows Store on your Xbox One:
