When browsing the Windows Phone store for new games today I found something very interesting…

Do you remember Track Mania? The unrealistic ultra-fast racing game on your PC which you played for hours? The cars were able to speed up to like one thousand km/h, flew trough the air like airplanes and made loops? The physics were totally unrealistic but this game was awesome – and free (I don’t know what happened to it – are newer versions in development?).

Well, I found a game which seems to be a port of a browser (flash) variant of this game. The first little test was impressive – genius graphics, great controls and the same kind of physics Smiley Even a level editor is on board (which I haven’t really figured out how to use it yet). The game is also free and features online support which means replays of other players get downloaded so you can drive against other players’ ghosts. Additionally it features split screen. It is very extensive and with almost 300mb size also not very small – but I think it is worth it.

racingqrI have found some smaller bugs already, but nothing which is really grave. When you try to adjust the graphics e.g. (something you really should do!) the game crashes when trying to change the resolution. Since nothing is pixelated, though, this is not a problem.

I played it four only two hours now and can’t give you a full review yet, so that will follow.

Simply for nostalgic reasons however it is already recommended and can be found in the Windows Phone Store here.
