The Stuff team was offered an exclusive hands-on with the Toshiba TG01. They will be posting a video of their exprience a bit later, but has left us with their impressions so far:

Well, it’s incredibly thin, looking a little like an iPhone that’s been given the rolling pin treatment (see comparison shots below). As you can see above, there’ll also be two colours available come June, and Toshiba has given the TG01 its own colourful skin to smooth over Windows Mobile’s rough edges.

This works quite nicely in practice – slide your finger across the three panels and they spin round to reveal more options. Each ‘strip’ also reveals your last ten actions in that area giving you quick access to, for example, your last ten phone calls.

That Snapdragon processor ensured a quick boot-up time (significantly faster than the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1), and the pre-loaded Fast and the Furious video looked crisp and ran smoothly. With CorePlayer on board, it supports plenty of formats including DivX too.

They also note the device will be bundled with an 8GB microSD card and possibly with CoPilot GPS navigation software.
