Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow Brings Stealth to PS VR2 in 2025

On June 4, 2025, during PlayStation’s State of Play, Vertigo Games, in collaboration with Eidos-Montréal and Maze Theory, announced Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow. This new installment in the Thief series is set to launch in late 2025 for PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2 and 3, and SteamVR platforms.

In Legacy of Shadow, players assume the role of Magpie, a skilled thief navigating the oppressive regime of Baron Ulysses Northcrest in The City. The game emphasizes stealth mechanics, allowing players to physically crouch, hide, and move through shadows using VR technology. Players can extinguish light sources with water arrows or their hands to remain unseen.

Developed by Maze Theory and published by Vertigo Games, Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow aims to deliver a fresh take on the classic stealth franchise. The game is currently available for wishlisting on PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest, and SteamVR platforms.
