Welcome fellow readers… to the most comprehensive article on the Future of Windows Phone to merge every single rumor out there and bring it down to a final conclusion to what Microsoft has planned for its Windows Phone OS at their //build conference scheduled on April 29, 2015.
Today, we bring all the rumors at one place and understand the blurry, pixelated part of the Windows 10 image shown above.
The blurry, pixelated image…..
This picture here is an extract from the original picture, that’s why it is pixelated and blurry when expanded.
All of rumors here, are related to this image, so keep this in mind (or just scroll up here again)
The dropping of “Phone” in Windows Phone
One of the first rumors out there, isn’t it?
In Windows 10, Microsoft aims to merge all its operating systems together to form a singular operating system.
So, Windows Phone 10 wouldn’t suit their operating system’s “feature” so rumors began of the drop of “Phone”.
Then came the proofs…. remember the HTC One (M8) for Windows? Yea.. now you are on the right track… no Windows Phone, but Windows.
Now came the ads, know that 530 ad, yup, the ad said “running Windows 8.1”.
Currently, the latest phones running Windows Phone 8.1 like Blu (Jr and HD) they have Windows printed on their phones.
Windows “Phone” 10 running on a tablet with an ARM processor
In the image above, we see an exact depiction of the Navigation Bar and the Portrait interface of Windows Phone 8.1 on that tablet beside the two Windows Phones.
Desktop background now in sync with all devices
In all the devices in the “big” picture. we see they all have the same background (excluding the device with no screen) leading to a rumor that all background will be synced.
This rumor also has lead to the next rumor
Removal of Tile Background from Windows Phone 8.1
If you are one of the many users running Windows Phone 8.1 or Lumia Cyan if you are a Nokia Lumia device user, then you would know that you can add a Image as you background for your Start Tiles.
In the picture, we see that the “synced” background, is same on all devices, including the Windows Phones and the ARM Tablet.
Groups
In the three devices that we are manly focusing on, we see that there are groups of tiles that can be given a custom name, similar to Windows 8.1 Start Menu groups.
We see that on the Windows Phone too (only if you try to focus on the tiles)
For now, we have only these rumors with more coming slowly and we expect to get more knowledge on this
Thats it!
