Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio is a set of tools that allows developers to control and simulate robots. It offers variety of tools to do so and it even supports Microsoft Kinect. Trevor from Microsoft blogged on this cool work his team member did with RDS. Watch the video above to know how he uses the telepresence robot.

One of the Robotics Team members has a hobby — working on his telepresence robot that runs with RDS. He uses it to entertain his dog at home during the day while he is at work. (Watch the video and you will see how). But the dog is just an excuse for some serious robotics engineering. He also uses the robot to chat with his wife and young son, who is used to the robot roaming around the house during the day while daddy is at work. For this family, telepresence is just another tool in the modern Internet-connected world that helps to keep them in touch.
