It looks like another retailer has bungled it up. Today, either Target accidentally released preorder cards for Assassin’s Creed Origins in a store or a wonderful employee leaked its existence to the rest of the world. Assassin’s Creed Origins is probably the worst-kept secret in gaming because everything from screenshots to merchandise has leaked in the past few weeks. However, a preorder card is definitive proof that the game exists and takes place in Egypt.

Ubisoft is expected to announce Assassin’s Creed Origins at E3 2017 with a Holiday 2017 release date. Rumor has it that Microsoft has marketing rights to this game and it will run at native 4K on Project Scorpio. The preorder card doesn’t reveal the game’s release date or any other details so we can’t say for sure. It also is devoid of any indications of who has marketing rights so we’ll just have to wait until either Microsoft’s press conference on June 11 or Ubisoft’s event a day later. Despite the speculation, it’s great that we finally know that the title exists, its setting, and what it’s called.
