While in some ways we can take for granted demand for the Nokia Lumia 920 in Finland, Sweden is another story, and has only a small penetration of Windows Phone.

It is therefore encouraging to read the demand for the handset we have seen in other parts of the world has also visited Sweden, where Marcuz Martinez, the Nordic Product Chief of the online retailer www.dustin.se was noted to say in a private Facebook group:

"just as it is, demand is absolutely huge for this phone. I must, of course, not to mention a few figures besides "era" phones so we had EXTREMELY limited (we’re talking single digit, at certain colors). Add to that we have roughly twice the back log on this as we had on the Samsung Galaxy s3 so do you understand the extent of luxury problem … "

The news is encouraging not just because of shortages, which may be due to supply issues, but also due to the size of the backlog, indicating real and significant demand which compares well to other superphones.

Hopefully Nokia can get around to being able to satisfy this demand before people move on to spending on alternate Christmas presents for themselves.

Thanks Baltazor for the tip.
