Google drive plugin is a great tool in Microsoft Office. For those unaware, the Google drive plugin for Microsoft Office helps you manage Google Drive Files in Microsoft Outlook.

Now Google wants to shake things up a bit. The company is planning to deprecate the existing plugin in the Microsoft Office and wants to come up with a new one that will give users some extra functionality.

As first spotted by Techdows, Google is now giving users a pop-up window which encourages users to install Backup and Sync or Drive File stream to avoid unwanted intervention to their workflow. Google suggests users install the new one before June 26 as the date marks the end of support for the old plugin.

With the new plugin for Google Drive File system coming into the play, users will be able to save and open Google Drive files without having to use the interface provided by the plugin, the regular menu in the Microsoft Outlook will serve the purpose.
