Plaffo has discovered the latest version of WhatsApp has a hidden feature – If you install the app from fresh (ie uninstall and re-install) the app offers a microphone in the messaging section which allows one to record short snippets of voice to send as a message.

The app will only record as long as the icon is pressed, giving a walkie-talkie –type experience.

The discovery comes on the same day as Skype also released an update for Windows Phone, which tragically failed to bring voice messaging to their own platform months after it showed up on iOS and Android.

Do our readers ever get the feeling Microsoft is not doing enough for Windows Phone?
