In September we reported that famed Windows Phone developer Rudy Huyn had left Dropbox after 4 years.

It seems Huyn landed on his feet, and has joined Microsoft, according to a tweet he posted earlier today.

Rudy will be joining the Partners, Analytics and Essential Experiences (PAX) team at Microsoft where he will presumably be developing UWP apps for “current and upcoming Win10 devices”. Something tells me this will include the Surface Duo and Surface Neo devices.

Rudy is famous for delivering services like Instagram and Snapchat to Windows Phone when the actual companies were neglecting the platform. This eventually earned him a job developing the official Dropbox app for Windows.

We, of course, wish Rudy the best and hope his dynamic energy will mean Microsoft will actually hit their targets rather than skating past them as usual.
