Tencent’s work on PUBG Mobile is impressive to say the least, but what’s more impressive is that the game’s new map is releasing on mobile before consoles.

Vikendi, the long-awaited snow map has been available in PUBG’s PC incarnation for a fortnight (heh) under test servers, but now it’s available to all players. The 6×6 map is larger than Sanhok, but smaller than the original 8×8.

The addition of snow means the inclusion of footprints and the like, allowing you to properly track other players around the map. There are also new Snowmobiles.

The mobile and PC versions of Vikendi are available to download now, but the map won’t be available on console until late January. It won’t be as Christmassy, but they’ll get it eventually. With Bluehole predominantly focusing on the PC version and Tencent managing the mobile port, console players are getting the short end of the stick this time around.

PUBG is available on Xbox One for £24.99/$29.99 or on Xbox Game Pass for only $9.99 per month, with a first month for only $1 trial available now. Check it out here.

PUBG is also available on PC, PS4 or free-to-play on Android and IOS.
