PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently only available on PC but has set multiple Steam records in the few short months it has been it Early Access. Just this month, it peaked at over 2 million concurrent players, dethroning Dota 2 which held the previous record of 1.2 million. All sales of PUBG so far have come from the digital marketplace.

Microsoft announced at E3 2017 that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds would be a console launch exclusive on the Xbox One, and it was a huge win for the company to snag such a popular game. Now, players will have even more options on how they wish to purchase it when it finally releases. Though digital sales dominate the PC gaming world and are quickly gaining steam on consoles, many players still buy physical versions of their games for various reasons.

It’s important to note that a physical release on Xbox One isn’t confirmed for launch, however. Players will still need to wait some time until a physical edition releases, but the developer does have plans for it.
