While we are still below the ten thousands we will still be counting our milestones in thousands, and the Windows Phone 7 marketplace just crossed another, its first 8000 apps. This is significantly faster than the Android app store, which took more than 11 months to cross 10,000 apps in September 2009, after launching in October 2008. It is also running at around the same pace as the iPhone app store, which was launched in July 2008 and took till December 2008 to cross 10,000 apps.
Marketplace also added more than 1000 apps over the last 2 weeks, and the recently announced Nokia deal should just do more to motivate developers to get into the market.
