Nvidia unveiled Project G-Assist at Computex 2024, an RTX-powered AI assistant that provides help for PC games and apps.

Project G-Assist can answer your questions about the game you are playing or suggest ways to improve your PC’s performance. It can do this by using an LLM connected to a game knowledge database and AI vision models that understand what’s happening on the screen.

For example, the game ARK: Survival Ascended may suggest the best early-game weapon and where to find the necessary materials to craft it. It can also analyze skill points and give suggestions on what to pick next to help players win higher-level areas and foes.

Project G-Assist can also be used to tune your PC’s performance. It can look into your system’s configuration and performance and suggest ways to improve it, such as applying a safe GPU overclock or enabling NVIDIA Reflex to reduce system latency.

This is just a glimpse of what Project G-Assist can do. Nvidia envisions AI assistants transforming the way we engage with our favorite games and apps. Imagine getting instant context-aware assistance with a complex creative workflow in a photo or video app or an AI coach analyzing your multiplayer replays.

This comes after NVIDIA earlier revealed Chat with RTX, a free technical demo application for Windows PCs. The app allows users to create their own AI chatbot that utilizes locally stored data to answer questions and extract information.

For example, if you have something saved in one of your files, such as a restaurant recommendation from a friend, the chatbot will easily help you find it. Here’s how you can use it.

Project G-Assist is not available yet, but developers who are interested can sign up to learn more.
