Google is expanding the reach of its AI-powered learning tool, NotebookLM, by introducing support for over 50 languages in its popular Audio Overviews feature.
Previously available only in English, this update allows users to generate engaging audio summaries of their documents in a variety of languages, making learning and content review more accessible across the globe.
Audio Overviews offer dynamic “deep dive” conversations between two AI hosts, summarizing key topics from uploaded content such as documents, slides, and charts.

Users can even include sources in different languages within the same notebook and choose any supported language for the audio output.
While interactive mode — where users can ask the AI hosts questions — remains in beta and is limited to English, the expanded language support significantly enhances global usability.
This rollout is now live for eligible Google Workspace and NotebookLM Plus editions, including Business Starter, Enterprise, Nonprofits, and various Education tiers.
Admins and end users can manage access and output language settings via the Admin console and NotebookLM interface respectively.
Google emphasizes that the summaries are based solely on uploaded content and not subjective AI opinions. This update begins its full rollout from April 29, 2025, with plans for ongoing improvements based on user feedback.
