Nokia has revealed a beta of their mobile HTML5 mapping application.

The service is set to offer regular Map view, Satellite view, Public transport view, and Live traffic view. The maps also offers pinch-to-zoom, routing directions for either walking or driving, saving favourite locations, and is able to access your current location (after asking permission).

Unfortunately the beta, which is available at m.maps.nokia.com seems to have a massive formatting issue on Windows Phone 7.5  (so much for HTML5 universality) but presumably Nokia will fix that at some point.

When fully functional it will offer a quick alternative to Bing Maps which are poor in some places in Europe and Asia.
