Bracketing is a method of creating HDR pictures manually by allowing users to take a series of pictures with different exposure values in succession, and then merging it later on a PC with the right software.
A new update to version 1.6.0.2 of the Nokia Pro Camera app for the Nokia Lumia 1020 brings this feature to the handset. It is best used with a tripod and should help address some of the criticism that camera does not have a good dynamic range.
Hopefully the feature will evolve into a proper HDR mode which can be used handheld and create the merged pictures on the fly, as seen in numerous other smartphones.
Find the updated app (if you are lucky enough to have a NL 1020) in the Windows Phone Store here.
