Nokia Glance Background Beta ending

On their Beta Labs blog Microsoft announced that the Nokia Glance Background Beta has come to an end, and that there will not be any further updates to the app.
The Glance Background app allows users to set a pixelated picture as a constant background on their phone even when the phone is sleeping. The feature should not be mistaken for Glance Notifications, which shows items such as new messages or emails.
While the end of the beta without the arrival of an official app may suggest Nokia is stepping away from the Glance concept, particularly with the Nokia Icon and Lumia 930 not supporting it, Nokia does write that:
“Although we aren’t expecting to update this specific beta app any further, we continue to explore ways to improve glance screen capabilities in general.”
For now the app will remain available in store, but in case it is pulled in the future, we suggest downloading from the store here now.
