Many users have complained that the 1308 firmware upgrade to the Nokia Lumia 920 was causing connectivity issues, especially on LTE, but also on 3G.

Now Nokia US has finally acknowledged the issues, and have halted the roll-out of the update.

They have promised a new update to fix the issues, which I assume will be another few weeks before it reaches the rest of the world.

Having just updated to the new firmware a few days ago when the software rolled out to Europe, and with us likely to wait longer for a fix, I hope these issues are less likely affect the GSM networks here.
