MyPhone getting remote GPS tracking, remote wipe?

In an article on remote wipe solutions solutions for smartphones, PCMag made the startling claim that Microsoft’s new My Phone Windows Mobile service, currently in beta, lets users locate lost handhelds via GPS and erase their data remotely. This was in addition to backing up contacts, photos, text messages, and calendar entries to Microsoft’s storage cloud.
With Apple’s MobileMe service offering similar features, tracking and remote wipe would be an obvious features to add. While it is likely this was an error on the side of PCMag, we can hope that it may be a sign that Microsoft intends to up its game and match the competition.
