Mini Motorways, a spiritual sequel to the adorable subway-builder Mini Metro, is set to hit Apple Arcade this Thursday.
In Mini Motorways, you’ll trade in your subway maps for motorways as you design roads to ease traffic in a growing city. You’ll have to keep redesigning your roads for optimal traffic flow, managing upgrades and customer demand as you go.
We’re delighted to finally be able to share with everyone the new game we’ve been working on! Announcing Mini Motorways – a game about drawing the roads that drive a growing city – coming soon to @AppleArcade on Sep 19. #AppleArcade pic.twitter.com/gQrIza1byE

While the game will be an Apple-exclusive at launch, Mini Motorways also has a Steam page available with a release date of 2020.
It can also be assumed that, like its predecessor, the game will be available on a variety of other platforms including Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, and potentially even consoles such as Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
Mini Motorway’s predecessor, Mini Metro, was first released in 2015 and is a puzzle strategy game where you must construct an efficient railway network using only lines and your sharp wit.
The game is procedurally generated, meaning that no two scenarios are the same, and is somehow simultaneously a pleasant and calming experience while also effectively conveying the stress that goes into public transport and its management.
If building subway maps seems like your kind of thing, you can pick up Mini Metro on Steam here.
Mini Motorways will release this Thursday alongside Apple’s new game-streaming service, Apple Arcade. The service currently totes a $4.99/month price tag with a free one-month trial for anyone interested.
If you’re not an Apple user or you just prefer Steam pages, you can also check out Mini Motorways’ Steam page here.
