At E3 2018 Microsoft announced the creation of a new studio in Los Angeles called The Initiative, helmed by former Crystal Dynamics head Darrell Gallagher. This studio aims to develop top-tier titles for Xbox, and it looks like they’ve recently hired some top-tier talent to make that a reality.

Over on Gallagher’s LinkedIn page, he announced that the studio had hired industry veterans that have worked on the most acclaimed IP in the business, like God of War.

A few of these people are now on positions on the HR team and working to recruit potential employees, but it also looks like The Initiative has hired developers for its future projects. Brian Westergaard previously served as Senior Managing Producer for Narrative and Animation on God of War at Sony’s Santa Monica Studio. Christian Cantamessa was Lead Writer on Red Dead Redemption.

We don’t know what the studio is working on just yet, but whatever it is will surely have a team of experienced devs behind it.
