Back in November last year, Microsoft announced the launch of Visio Online Public Preview, a new way to view and share Visio diagrams on the web. Today, Microsoft launched Visio Online for all Office 365 Commercial customers. Since the preview version was released, Microsoft has added support for commenting on Visio Online and support for VSD file format.

You can upload a Visio file (.vsdx, .vsd., or .vsdm format) to the cloud on either OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online. Then, people can view the file in a web browser using Visio Online, even if they don’t have the Visio desktop application installed.

Microsoft is also releasing JavaScript APIs for IT professionals to extend Visio capabilities to meet specific user needs. To know how to use JavaScript APIs with Visio Online, check out this blog post.
