Microsoft’s New Mimicker Alarm App For Android Will Make Sure You Wake Up On Time

Microsoft Garage today announced their latest project, Mimicker Alarm, an alarm app that uses games to help you get out of bed. It makes use of Microsoft Project Oxford’s machine learning APIs. To dismiss your alarm, you must mimic the action given. It might ask you to snap a selfie, speak a phrase, or even get out of bed. If you don’t finish the game in time, we’ll assume you’ve fallen back asleep and your alarm will start ringing again. To make it even more fun, once you complete the Mimic, you can share your personalized results with your friends and show how you beat it.

In “Express Yourself,” your task is to take a selfie that best matches the emotion the game chooses. In “Color Capture,” you take a picture of an object that best matches the color presented by the game. And in “Tongue Twister,” you repeat a phrase that requires some brain power to enunciate.

Features include:

* First run experience to help you learn the app
* Alarm customization for time, day, ringtone, snooze and Mimic
* Multiple Mimics to wake up with: Match the expression, capture the color, complete the tongue twister, or shuffle between all three
* Personalized images you can share with friends after each alarm

For now, this app is available on Android only. Download Mimicker Alarm for Android today.
