Microsoft has released a new app into the Google Play Store designed to help Chinese speakers improve their English pronunciation.

The app, Engkoo, uses an artificial intelligence engine to precisely determine the accuracy of English pronunciation and score it by correct pronunciation, intonation, and pace, providing helpful feedback to improve the user’s spoken English.

Using daily training, Engkoo can screen for mispronounced minimal pairs that are often overlooked, and arrange related scenarios for users to train intensively so as to improve their pronunciation.

The multi-branch Q&A scenarios include several responses to each question, allowing for more flexibility and personalization than the traditional single-answer model.

The free app can be found in the Google Play Store here.
