Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows to get an "all-in-one" experience

Remember when we reported the updated Surface Hub 3 device from the Microsoft Surface 2023 event last week? Well, this device has just been integrated with Redmond’s latest plan to launch an “all-in-one” experience for Microsoft Teams Rooms. 

Here’s what it means. As we’ve spotted from the Microsoft 365 Roadmap site, Teams Rooms on Windows will soon support all-in-one and board device form factors, such as the Surface Hub 3. 

That means, the update will make it easier for organizations to deploy and manage Teams Rooms in a variety of meeting spaces, from small huddle rooms to large conference rooms — just in line with what was announced last week. 

“This also means Surface Hub 3 now supports long-requested features by Hub customers—including persistent chat, the Front Row layout (which looks particularly beautiful on the 85” screen), and more,” Microsoft says in the official announcement.

The roadmap site says that this feature rollout is not too far on the horizon: the all-in-one experience for Teams Rooms on Windows is expected to be released in November 2023 and will be available worldwide on desktops.

“And, going forward, customers can look forward to newly released Teams Rooms features now also coming to Surface Hub on Day 1.”
