Microsoft shows commitment to gamers with five new game studios

At E3 2018, Microsoft announced that it is acquiring four new studios and forming a new studio to create exclusive titles for Xbox and Windows 10 platform. Find the details about the new studios below.

The Initiative: 

This is a brand new 1st party studio based in Santa Monica, led by Darrell Gallagher who brings 20 years of industry experience including leading Crystal Dynamics and Tomb Raider franchise.

Playground Games:

The popular studio behind Forza Horizon series is now part of Microsoft Studios. Apart from the Forza series, they are working on two exciting open-world projects.

Undead Labs:

Microsoft is acquiring Undead labs, the developers of the State of Decay franchise.

Ninja Theory:

Ninja Theory has joined Microsoft Studios. The BAFTA Award-Winning developer of Hellblade, DmC, Enslaved and Heavenly Sword.

Compulsion Games:

Microsoft is acquiring video game developer Compulsion Games, makers of the games We Happy Few and Contrast.
