Computex 2017 starts this week in Taipei. As usual, we’ll see a lot of new Windows announcements at Computex — but this time around, there’ll be some interesting new announcements. Microsoft and Qualcomm recently (read: last week) sent out invites for Computex 2017, where the companies are expected to reveal more about Windows on ARM. The invite mentions:
Join us under the stars at Computex 2017: Much, mingle, and raise a glass to celebrate the growing ecosystem that will bring an out-of-this-world mobile PC experience ot the masses.
The invite is likely hinting at Windows on ARM, which Microsoft and Qualcomm have been working on for a while now. Late last year we got to know that Microsoft is bringing full Windows 10 to ARM processors, starting with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. Microsoft recently detailed some of the technical aspects of Windows on ARM at its Build 2017 developer conference. But actual devices running Windows on ARM won’t arrive until later this year.
We’ll let you know if there’s any Windows on ARM news coming out of Computex 2017, so make sure to stay tuned to MSPU for more on Windows on ARM.
