Microsoft released a new Skype app built on React Native with the latest Fast Ring Build. The new Skype app is built on React Native which is better than the old XAML app.

However, the new React Native app is not available for Windows Phone because of which Skype doesn’t support SMS Relay function. Users can, however, force the Operating System to use the old UWP app which will allow them to send SMS but it’s buggy and doesn’t work well. The good thing is that React Native is better than XAML and the app does have most of the other features.

Microsoft isn’t done testing the new React Native app so we can expect new updates. The company might bring back SMS Relay in the future but for now, you can only see the notifications and not reply to them.
