Ahead of the official release of Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft today released Lumia Imaging SDK 3.0 with support for the Universal Windows Platform. For those who aren’t familiar with Lumia Imaging SDK, it’s a software development kit which Microsoft uses to develop some of the camera apps for Windows Phone (as well as other devices).

With the latest update for Lumia Imaging SDK, Microsoft is adding support for GPU-based image processing through Direct2D. GPU-based image processing through Direct2D will significantly improve the performance of apps built using the Imaging SDK.
