Update: The important bug-fixing update is now in the Release Preview Ring.

Microsoft released a new Build for the Fast ring Insiders on Windows 10 May 2019 Update. The new Build 18362.82(KB4497093) is a tiny update and doesn’t offer any new features, but fixes an important bug. Users running Build 18362.53 was having a hard time updating to the latest 20H1 build, now, with Build 18362.86 installed users will be able to do that without any issue. The new update also brings other fixes and improvements. You can read the official changelog below.

FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS

  • This Cumulative Update includes the fix for Windows Insiders in the Fast ring who were unable to update to the latest 20H1 build from Build 18362.53.
  • We have made general improvements for users in Japan or use the OS in Japanese including fixes for the Japanese IME and fixes for date and time issues.
  • We fixed an issue where UWP VPN plugin apps might not be able to properly send packets through an established VPN tunnel on an IPv6 only network.
  • We fixed the issue causing updating to Build 18362 to fail to install with an 0x80242016 error.

To update, go to Settings> Update and security> Windows Update> Check for updates, wait for the automatic download and install.
