Discord is a popular chat app among the gaming community, and today Microsoft has announced a partnership with them to connect gamers across Discord and Xbox Live.

This collaboration between the two companies is meant to make it easier for people to chat and connect with friends while gaming. Within the coming weeks, players will have the ability to link their Discord account to their Xbox account.

For Xbox users, this feature will first be available to Xbox Insiders. To link your accounts, simply go to the Account Settings menu and select “Linked social accounts.” It is here that you will see a new option for Discord. Once you do this, you will receive a code on your Xbox that needs to be plugged into your Discord account through the Connections tab in the app.

This process works similarly if you are trying to link your account through PC. When you’re in the Discord app you will soon see a new option to link your Xbox Live account to it through the Connections tab under User Settings. After you sign in you’ll be prompted to enable permission to link the accounts.

Once you follow the aforementioned steps your accounts should be linked and ready to go. Your Xbox Live game presence can then be shared to your friends over Discord.
