Microsoft today officially announced the Wireless Display Adapter. Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter allows you to mirror any Miracast compatible device content to HDMI equipped large displays. Just plug the USB and HDMI from the adapter into your HDTV or monitor, connect your device, and then mirror or extend your small screen onto the big one. It can be powered by the USB ports found on TVs and plugs into the HDMI port. It is compatible with Windows 8.1 devices including the Surface Pro line and Surface 2, and Android 4.2.1 or later. For example it works with Dell Venue Pro Windows tablet, Nokia Lumia 1520 Windows Phone 8 device and more.

The Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter is available for preorder now in the U.S. and Canada and generally available in October for $59.95 (U.S.) online at the Microsoft Store and at Best Buy and Microsoft Retail Store locations.
