When Microsoft announced the Surface Hub, the company stated that the devices will be shipped on 1st September. However, the company delayed the release date to January 1st recently. And now, the company is delaying the release yet again – and increasing the price of the device, too.

Today, Microsoft announced that the 55-inch Surface Hub will be available for $8,999 while the 84-inch variant will come at $21,999. For those who don’t know, the 55-inch Surface Hub was previously available for $6,999 while the 81-inch one was available for $19,999. Yep, the company is increasing the prices of the Surface Hub by $2000. A Microsoft spokesperson stated:

“After evaluating the market opportunity and considering the unique collaboration scenarios Surface Hub offers, we believe these are the right prices to drive the business and the category forward”

It is worth noting that if you or your company already ordered the Surface Hub at its initial price, you won’t have to pay the new price for the device, which is quite nice of Microsoft. Regarding the release of the device, Microsoft reportedly stated that the Surface Hub is “on track to ship the first Surface Hub devices to customers early next year.” As it seems like, Microsoft may not be shipping the Surface Hub on January 1st – instead, the company is apparently going to ship the device “early next year”.
