Microsoft last month announced updates to the iOS and Android Skype apps to resolve common complaints about the new Skype. These updates would feature new themes and bring back removed features like Skype’s activity monitor which was removed in the transition.

The updates have started rolling out now, with Android being the first beneficiary and iPhone users following shortly afterwards.

Here’s the changelog pulled from the Google Play Store and the iTunes Store:

  •  New themes – choose between light and dark themes.
  •  Activity indicators – see who’s currently active in your Chats list.
  •  Reorder your chats – sort your chats by recent, unread or active.
  •  General performance and reliability improvements.

Microsoft has yet to roll out this new design to Windows 10 users in its entirely, or at all to users of Max and Linux. The firm says that users on desktop (and iPad), will be getting it later in the year. With the contentious reception on mobile, let’s hope Microsoft nails it when it finally comes to the Store.
