Microsoft brings Custom Vision cognitive service to Azure IoT edge, open sources Azure IoT Edge Runtime

During the Day 1 keynote at Build developer conference today, Microsoft announced that they are open sourcing the Azure IoT Edge Runtime to allow customers to modify, debug and control their edge applications.

Microsoft also announced that they are bringing Custom Vision Azure Cognitive Service to Azure IoT Edge for the first time. With this support, IoT devices such as security cameras, sensors, etc can take actions locally without sending the data for processing in the cloud. Microsoft also mentioned that they are planning to bring more services to Azure IoT Edge in the coming months.
