A few days ago Microsoft asked users on their Uservoice site “SPECIFICALLY what features you would like to see on 7.8” and to vote for those individually.

Users responded enthusiastically, adding topics such as Notifications on WP7.8 lock screen like WP8 and Skype Intergration for WP7.8 and Please provide Bluetooth file transfer in windows phone 7.8 or provide an app for us, all of which received several thousand votes.

Now Microsoft has updated their post saying the forum was “intended to seek suggestions on future product features but it is not set up to take requests for specific product versions.”

The updated message suggests users should probably not bet on even highly voted suggestions appearing in Windows Phone 7.8.
