Microsoft Azure RemoteApp

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced the preview of a brand new app delivery service called Azure RemoteApp which allowed enterprises to deploy Windows apps in the cloud and access them from any device. Today, Microsoft announced that Azure RemoteApp will be generally available on December 11, 2014. It will be available as Pay-As-You-Go on Azure and will also be able to purchase Azure RemoteApp through a Volume Licensing/Azure Plan SKU starting February 1, 2015.

To stay productive, people need anywhere, anytime access to corporate resources on the devices they use. Delivering these resources to different device platforms is no easy task. In certain use case scenarios, providing native applications to each platform may not be the ideal solution.

Azure RemoteApp provides an effective solution for application delivery: Applications run in the Azure cloud and are accessed through the Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). Your employees can use corporate applications from anywhere and on a variety of devices including iOS, Mac OS X, Android, and Windows platforms. In addition, on the back end, the applications are securely managed, automatically scaling up or down to meet the changing needs of your businesses.
