Microsoft Authenticator app on Android now supports cloud backup and recovery

Microsoft today announced the updated Microsoft Authenticator app on Android that supports cloud backup and recovery. This new feature will make it really easy for users to switch their Authenticator app to new devices. All they have to do is to take a back up their account credentials to the cloud, and restore them to a new device when needed.

How to take backup:

  • To turn on the Microsoft Authenticator cloud backup, open the app and go to Settings. Under Backup, set the Cloud backup toggle to On.

How to recover your backup:

  • To recover your account credentials on a new device, tap the Begin Recovery button and sign in using the same personal Microsoft account as your previous device.
