Meta lowers prices on Meta Quest 2 VR headsets and accessories

Effective January 1st, Meta is implementing permanent price reductions for the Meta Quest 2 virtual reality headset and several of its accompanying accessories. All the values mentioned below are in USD.
- 128GB model: Now $249.99 (previously $299.99)
- 256GB model: Now $299.99 (previously $349.99)
- Refurbished units: Reduced prices for both storage capacities
Accessory price reductions:
- Elite Strap: $49.99 (unchanged)
- Carrying Case: $44.99 (previously $49.99)
- Elite Strap with Battery: $89.99 (previously $129.99)
- Active Pack: $59.99 (previously $99.99)
- Fit Pack: $39.99 (previously $49.99)
Why this change?
Meta’s stated objective is to increase VR accessibility and attract a wider audience to the platform. The lowered pricing positions the Quest 2 as a more budget-friendly entry point into the VR experience.
These price adjustments may incentivize individuals previously hesitant about the cost of VR equipment to consider purchasing a Quest 2. Additionally, existing Quest 2 owners may be more inclined to invest in additional accessories.
