OpenAI arrived with big announcements a little while ago. The Microsoft-backed company launched the new GPT-4o model that’s extremely natural and conversational, and it’s rolling out for both free and paid ChatGPT Plus users. But now, it seems like Meta is also working on its own paid version of Meta AI assistant.
The Information first exclusively revealed that the tech giant has plans to launch the premium version of Meta AI, via an internal memo that’s shared with the publication. Specific features and pricing remain undisclosed for the time being, unfortunately.
Meta AI, built on the latest Llama 3 model, is rolling out on all of Meta’s platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger. Just like ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, you can do things like searching for place recommendations, generating images, solving math problems, generating texts for emails or messages, and more.
Should the premium version of Meta AI drop, however, we’re expecting it to have a $20/month price tag, similar to the likes of ChatGPT Plus, Microsoft Copilot Pro, or Anthropic’s Claude Pro. And just like those AI tools, you can also access Meta AI through its website at meta.ai.
“While these updates are specific to Meta AI in Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and on the web, Meta AI is also available in the US on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses — and coming to Meta Quest,” Meta promised at the time of the Meta AI launch.
