Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in Seattle yesterday. During his meeting, Fadnavis asked Microsoft to support Maharashtra government’s Smart City and Smart Village projects.
“Had a very productive meeting and insightful discussion with @Microsoft CEO @satyanadella at Microsoft in Seattle”, tweeted Fadnavis after meeting Nadella.
Based on his request, Microsoft has agreed for a “Digital Village” and promised to provide technology support to health care services in remote tribal areas in Maharashtra. They are planning to start a pilot programme at Melghat in Amravati district. Also, Microsoft has agreed to develop a Smart City, similar to the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and will set up a cyber security centre at Pune.
