Few months ago, Microsoft added support for Double Tap To Wake to the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. Over the past several weeks, the company has been rolling the update out to Lumia 950 devices all around the world. And now, it seems like the company  has also started releasing the feature for its Lumia 650. Some Lumia 650 owners have started reporting that Microsoft has released a new firmware update for the device, with brings support for Double Tap To Wake. Similar to most firmware updates, the new firmware update for the Lumia 650 isn’t available for all devices right now and Microsoft is rolling them out. Therefore, the update may not be available for your own Lumia 650 right now and it may take a while to arrive for your Lumia 650 as it depends on your region and carrier.

According to reports, the latest firmware update is version 01078.00042.16352.50011 and it’s available via the Windows Device Recovery Tool. Keep in mind that using the Windows Device Recovery tool will wipe your data on the Lumia 650, so if you don’t want to lose your data, you are better off waiting for the official rollout which can be a few weeks or even months away.

If you have installed the latest firmware, just head over to the Settings app > Personalization > Lock Screen to enable Double Tap To Wake on the Lumia 650.
