MonWindowsPhone reports that the LG Optimus 7 appears to be suffering a battery indicator issue.

Loïc, who is a phone retailers in French Polynesia tested more than 30 LG Optimus 7 handsets and discovered the battery indicator does not move while the device is being used ie. if it reads full charge at the start of a session the battery indicator will not be refreshed until the device is suspended.

In most cases, with phone use being intermittent, this will not be an issue, but if you are low on battery and using the phone, e.g. for GPS navigation, the LG Optimus 7 will not give a low battery warning  and may in fact just die unexpectedly.

To see if your phone is affected simply note your current battery life in settings> energy saving, use the device non-stop for say 15 minutes and check it again. There should be some drop, unless you are using a LG Optimus 7 of course.

Is this problem isolated to that batch, or do any of our readers have this issue also? Let us know in comments below.

Thanks Loïc for the tip.
