imageLehmann Aviation has just upgraded its LA100 fully automatic personal drone with support  for OperationCenter software on both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.

The drone is the first which required no piloting skills or background at all: all the user had to do was to connect the battery, launch the drone and wait 5 minutes for it to come back to the launch site with HD images on the SD-card captured via the included GoPro camera.

The LA100 in Version2 comes with 2 major improvements:

  • WI-FI communication: all LA100 UAVs are now coming with a WI-FI communication interface that enables to use OperationCenter software for flight preparation (change of altitude and choice of a flight path among several
suggested) and systems check (sensors, battery level, autopilot check).
  • OperationCenter on Windows Phone 8: OperationCenter new app for Windows Phone 8 is now available on Windows Phone Store, making a perfect control interface on the field (perfectly suitable for use with Nokia Lumia 1520 6’’ large screen).

The LA100 flies at speeds of 20 to 80 km/h, at a range of up to 300m. It flies in winds of up to 35 km/h and in temperatures from -25°c to 60°c. The wingspan of this drone is 92 cm whilst the length is 45 cm. Mostly made of foam, aluminium and carbon fibre, the LA100 weights around 850 g, including a mounted GoPro camera.

All LA100 drones are now coming in Version2, for which Lehmann Aviation keeps the same price: €990 (roughly 1340 USD). The new upgrade for all LA100 Version1 drones is available upon request and costs 190€ (roughly 260 USD).

For those who would like to prepare the whole flight with bigger range and performance, Lehmann Aviation suggests its LA200 and LA300 drones.
