How to get W10M TP or WP8.1 Update 2 on your HTC 8S

Last week the wizards at promised a tutorial on how to hack Windows 10 Mobile onto the HTC 8S.

Today they delivered with not just that, but also a guide to getting Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 on your handset, which given W10M’s stability is probably a better idea.

To install WP8.1 Update 2 or W10M TP on your HTC 8S you simply need to modify some registry keys using a registry editor available at WindowsMania.pl and follow some simple steps.

Note however that it is always possible to get stranded on an unsupported version of the operating system, so hacking on a device you cant afford to lose is always a bad idea, and done at your own risk.
